indeed Tar! (i am currently in between computers myself and cannot do the quote button by phone argh) i have found that when discovering that one's particular beliefs...the way one is raised... comes into question, and the realization that one can no longer in good conscience hold to that particular view or system of beliefs- it becomes very hard not to begin to see every aspect of ones formerly held views as distasteful. it is very hard to not become a teensie bitter or prejudice and begin to them Only see the bad. i greatly admire albert schweitzer in this aspect. one can still see his great love of the things of beauty in faith in his writings. but also the most incredible ability to eagerly seek the truth with no fear of stepping outside of traditionally accepted thought and beliefs. my hope is that beauty-light and love can be seen for what they are in whatever vehicle they are found. we do a great injustice to each other when we denomize what is good or heroize what is evil out of either dear or hate (and i believe i have seen this occur on every side of the playing field) . very nice to meet you here! and i look forward to the upcoming day i shall be unhindered by my tiny phone screen :-) with love- holly/soms

Good to hear from an apparently kindred soul. What I mean by that, is your approach seems similar to mine. In this way. It seems we both are of the opinion that it is not so crucial or helpful to prove somebody elses beliefs false, as it is crucial and helpful to find the truth that exists in the others beliefs.
And that in no case should one throw the baby out, with the bath water. Just work together to flush away the dirty water, dry the little darling off and give him/her a warm embrace.
Regards, TAR
