It seems as if the "New Board" thread that Tea put up over at CARM has mysteriously disappeared. I also notice he's suspended/banned.
I think Naz was right when he told me in a private conversation that Slick and Diane are running scared.
With each action the admins against atheists take over there, they only show their true faces and their "fruits" as Christians.
Dave
P.S. If I get suspended/banned from there for something I say here, I'll definitely be having them delete my account.

Hardly any atheists are posting. I guess that's the plan. Then they can pat each other's back and say "Look how we made them run!" Bleh.

Yup, and I've been whacked 10 naughty points for 'advertising another forum'! That, together with another 'infraction' for - gasp! - posting a poll "Do you think atheists should be restricted?" was enough to get me suspended. A poll, incidentally, that was not accessible to most atheists and was coming out overwhelmingly "no" before it got zapped.
I do wonder what goes through Dianne's head when she does these things. Is she in a state of moral righteousness, believing that what she's doing is good and true; or is she thinking at the back of her mind that you know, maybe, there's something wrong here. One can almost feel sorry for her as she carries out Matt's - I mean God's will.

I honestly believe (but I can't support) that Diane has some spine tingling episodes where she's not sure if what she's doing on CARM is the right thing (the "godly" thing) to do. While it appears that she is the right hand hatchet lady to Mr. Slick it's obvious to me she holds her own opinions. That they line up pretty parallel to Mr. Slick's opinions may be due to various reasons. She is given considerable power at CARM and what is all that power worth if it's not exercised. Believe me, I know. I use to hold ultimate power on a discussion forum once a long time ago and can understand the temptation of such "absolute" power. Doesn't make it right. Dave

Wow. That was quite a read; three voluminous archives of drek to produce one tiny little NPOV entry on CARM; and still tagged with a 'lack of notability' tag. Was it worth the effort? And I take it back; I'm not sorry for Dianne at all. Even a religious maniac shooting up on God must know the difference between dissemblance and mendacity. What assholes.

Note the complete lack of discussion about CARM on the article page. Perhaps someone should edit and talk about the treatment of non-fundies(especially atheists)? There's plenty of documentation on the site

Well, most of the atheists who frequent the boards have found this place, so the thread did its job. I would suggest inviting new members via pm or something (perhaps just give them an msn handle and then link in a chat.)
Perhaps if the atheist forums die down a bit, the restrictions will be reversed since they realize it's not doing them any good. ;P

There's plenty of documentation on the site Apparently there used to be, resulting in a flame war between pro- and anti-CARMites and a distinctly non-NPOV article, with threats of legal action from CARM to boot. This was extensively discussed in the Wiki discussions page. Eventually one of the editors threw up his hands and said "OUT! OUT!", together with the observation that fights on forums is not exactly notable. And so out it went.

with threats of legal action from CARM to boot. Empty threats. They can't sue for slander if it's true(especially if it's backed up with extensive links to their site).

So I am now on the "naughty step", maybe for a long time, too. Funny how some posters can openly admit to trolling, but others get suspended for pointing it out. Oh well...a sign of desperation on Matt/Diane's side for sure.

It is gratifying to know that many who responded opposed this segregation. How are new members told about the segregated fora? Last I checked there was nothing in the rules about "atheist posters". Has this changed, or is it likely to? Was there something specific that precipitated this segregation, or was it something building up for a long time?

I did not see your poll. Did you get a fair number of responses? Do you recall what the numbers were? It is gratifying to know that many who responded opposed this segregation. It was only up for about an hour! I was stupid enough to make reference to it in one of Dianne's threads and she must have stampeded over and deleted it straight away. The last figure I saw was 14 opposed to 2 in favor, but one of those 14 was my vote of course! Actually, she didn't nail me for the poll; she just deleted it without a word or a finger-wag, I suppose because it was all perfectly within the rules. But I said "What a pity, I don't think you can vote" in the post on her thread, this interpreted as "criticism of CARM policy" or some crap like that. Oh how interesting: I just noticed my IP is blocked now, and it was fine a few hours ago. Guess who's reading this forum. Hello Di! Atheists can only post in the atheist and evolution forums. No, there's nothing in the rules: just an ad-hoc edict from Matt. According to Matt, 'trolling'. But I think the real reason is that he's had his butt kicked so often in debate that he resorted to trolling on the atheist forum, got his butt kicked some more, and then invoked his Master of the Website superpowers. Sad. It's the only power he's got left.

Hi,
Been offline for the whole weekend, but back now. Just tried to log on to CARM and it seems to be fine...wonder what happened there.
I have no email from them threatening me with legal action (they might find that more than a little difficult given I live in the UK).
Anyway let me see what is going on at CARM.
