To be honest, I'm tired of the whole topic of religion and theism and atheism. There doesn't seem to be any new truth around the bend right now! It's just debating the same old stuff over and over. It's probably worth it here rather than among staunch dogmatists who won't budge an inch except further into "unshakability", but...
...but I guess there's an off topic area here... hm!

A lot of schools in the US are having semester final exams about now. Other than that, I have no clue.

Maybe because there really is no topic for theists to discuss? It seems to me that this board is just full or atheists talking to one another. And ydoaPs, is the nature of this board more scientific or philosophical?

Maybe because there really is no topic for theists to discuss? Um, you have access to the new thread button too. Not quite. The poster with the highest post count is a christian. I'm not sure what you mean.

Um, you have access to the new thread button too. Not quite. The poster with the highest post count is a christian. I'm not sure what you mean. Well look at that...so I do, so I do. But somehow, I get the feeling you all have heard every religious argument a thousand times over. I meant that if this board is all scienc-y (like SFN), then none of my arguments hold any merit whatsoever. God is not a clearly defined, testable hypothesis, and as such, cannot be discussed. But if it's all metaphysical stuff, then I guess my stuff stands.

I meant that if this board is all scienc-y (like SFN), then none of my arguments hold any merit whatsoever. God is not a clearly defined, testable hypothesis, and as such, cannot be discussed. You'll find a variety of response types here. Some will be sciency, some will be philosophy-y, some will be crazy foaming at the mouth fundie-y(okay, maybe not much of the last type). We encourage people of all walks of life and of all viewpoints to engage in discussion. As for me personally, it depends upon the topic as to how I respond. If the topic in question requires science and/or history, I'll respond with science and/or history; if it requires philosophy, I'll respond with philosophy. That's odd. Why would it not stand against science/history/facts, but stand against metaphysical/imaginary/bullshit/philosophy/theology/astrology/etc?

we've got lots of members but no one is posting. I can't speak for anyone else but I'm having a crazy last couple of weeks of uni at the moment. Presentations and dissertation a go-go. Although, I do have a holiday project (read: blatant excuse to delay work on said dissertation) in mind. I'd like to try writing up some of my biggest problems with theology into a coherent form and posting them to see what problems (from atheists or theists) they have that I haven't figured out yet. I think it would be a fun exercise to try and express my stance without getting tongue twisted. So I'll post them whenever I've done them - might be fun. Yours, Harriet

I'm here! I'm a little intimidated by all the smart people here, but I've been encouraged to come back and visit. I figure-it's just chit chatting anyway. Not like I get my pay docked or a bad grade for making dumb posts.

Harriet,
Looking forward to your "coherent form" posts as well.

Tripolation,
I have not heard them all. And all have not heard all of my arguments for a middle ground. So discussion is possible.
Regards, TAR
