Marc Hauser has been running some research on moral dilemmas and finds no difference between theists and atheists in how they respond to them. The responses are also independent of culture or race or background.
The full results haven't yet been published but here's a brief note by Hauser and Peter Singer, particularly as it relates to religion. For jollies you can take the test here - it's just for data collection so you won't get any feedback on how you compare, but it does make you scratch your head!
