Ya'll need to start playing the Republican's game with Jesus. The left has way better claim to Christianity than the right. There's no way Jesus would have been a Republican.

I am not particullarlly into politics, but as a Christian, I am passionate about the poor, downtrodden, orphans, refugees etc- and find the Conservative idea of 'look after number one when the poor man may be at your gate' totally abhorent and counter christian.... I CANNOT see how people can unite absolute conservatism with Jesus. To me it is as natural as breathing air that christians should want to share their talents and wealth so that others' needs are met.

At the risk of being a bore on this subject, check out this video of Johnathan Haidt's TED talk. It's an eye-opener on the conservative/liberal divide.

As a Christian, this "Westernized" Christianity sickens me. "Name it and claim it" or the Prosperity Gospel-idiocy. Strange that Jesus, the Apostles, and the Prophets weren't men of great wealth, but now Christians should have everything in this life. Crazy stuff and it only has a following in places like America. Real Christians care about the poor-at least do SOMETHING to help out!

True, but i don't think He would've been a Democrat, either. Then again, I no longer trust ANY political party. Both of the Big Two stick it to the American public whenever they can, it seems. But you have a good point, ydoaPs-the Left should claim Christ, too. I would, if i was their Minister of Propaganda, or whatever they call the position.
