Hi supersport! And welcome!
As to your OP, it's bunk, as you well know.
I'm an atheist. Married 25 years. Former soccer mom. SUV owner. I go to a church twice a week for fellowship and discussion. My son was a boy scout and my husband a scout leader. Son sang in boy choir for 5 years. I like to visit small towns, mom-and-pop-shops, and farms, I support charities, and I absolutely love Christmas. I like July 4th celebrations and yesterday I visited the flag that inspired Francis Scott Key.
On the other hand, while talking to creationists can be fun, they should be kept off school boards. I think the country could have done without GWB, and guns cause too many accidents and emotion-driven injuries. The decision to abort should be left to the woman. I can do without gambling, prostitution, excessive violence in movies, etc.
I did not use the word "hate", did I?

After talking with activist atheists on forums like this for almost 3 years. Sadly, I've come to the conclusion that these people are generally a sad, miserable group of people, and there are many things in life that they truly despise. Hate, really, is a better word, so I'll use that. Rest of rampant crap snipped. Besides, we all know you don't believe a word of it, and you just like stirring the pot. For whatever reason...but don't try to explain. I'm certain we really do not want too much insight into whatever it is that motivates this kind of horse hockey. And, like, welcome to the boards! uote]

My observation of dogmatists, Christian or otherwise, is that they can not tolerate opposition of any kind because that implies that their view might be wrong. This is the reverse of the true scholar who welcomes divergent views for the insight they bring.

They hate life and being alive. What kind of a human being are you, really?

Every group has its haters. Every one of them! Why? Prob. human nature. Even though most beliefs-from Agnostic to Zorastrian-consider hating one's neighbor to be a bad idea, we still do it, anyway. So, I don't think Atheists are bitter and hateful. One of my fav. people is an non believer in God. Some are haters, but so are some folks in my Faith. Sad but true. So, don't be hatin' playas!

It'll be interesting to see how long it takes for this post to be deleted! Sorry, this is not CARM where the craziest post of yours disappeared soon afterwards by the caring hand of a moderator. Here, your shame remains for everyone to see!

If you're not going to believe in God (an agent capable of creating the universe) then you're going to need to come up with a naturalistic (aka mindless, purposeless, accidental) explanation for the universe and everything in it. Supersport, Seems like you are going to need to come up with an explanation for the genesis of the agent capable of creating the universe. Regards, TAR

ydoaPs,
Thanks for the info. I suppose I should lurk around a bit, read all the posts here, and get a good feel for the waters...but I probably won't. That is, I will probably post as I read, and find something I would like to respond to. Have noticed that I have my work cut out for me though, trying to hack out a middle ground, between two armed camps, where both sides can find some common ground. There does seem to be some solid entrenchments on both sides that it will be difficult to roust people out of. But I do like a challenge.
Regards, TAR
P.S. For the record, I planned to get around, (after SSs reply) to the fact that I was a Republican, voted for George Jr. twice, and did not fit his idea of an atheist, ranted in his OP, at all.

Tar, notice I call myself a syntheist. That is all about finding the middle ground between theism and atheism.
